We need the ability to continually update our enviornmental monitoring projects. For example we invest a lot of resources on developing science based carbon targets for sectors and sub-sectors that become almost instantly out of date as emissions continue to rise. Being able to re-do our analyses based on current data would enable us to provide more accurate guidance on the scale of challenges facing us.
